C's Win With A Big Assist From Their Sixth Man

There's not a GM, other than Chris Wallace, who would trade the Pacers
roster for the Celtics.

The Pacers are more talented than the Celtics.

The Pacers are the deeper team.

The Pacers are the more athletc team.

The Pacers are the better shooting team.

The Pacers are the better rebounding team.

The Pacers are the bigger team.

And yet, the Celtics could win this series,
and it's all because of one man.

Their unheralded co-conspirator sixth man: Isiah Thomas.

Isiah is incompetent, awful, clueless, and strategically inept.
So muddled mismanagently, that he makes Jim O'Brien look
positively Auerbachian.

And you know what, if the Pacers lose the series, it will be the best
thing
to happen to them. Because Isiah will finally be dumped, and the most
talented
club in the East, can bring in a competent coach, and vie for the
Conference
championship.

As for the Celtics, in the short term a victory over Indiana is a good
thing, but
in the long run, it hurts, because it reinforces Jim O'Brien's hold over
the
coaching position and the continuance of the three-point, bombs-away
style, most of us detest.

How for instance can Wyc and the Boyos fire O'Brien after he's led the
club
to victory over a much more talented team? Simply ain't happening,
but an extension is, and that means three more years of O'Brien.
