Larry Likes the Baker Trade

From Larry's Chat on ESPN.com yesterday:

>Larry Rules (Cleveland OH): Hi Larry, What are your thoughts on
>Celtics' last season run to the conference finals and the Vin Baker
>trade? Thank you, you're THE MAN!
>Larry Bird: I thought they had a great year and got some great
>coaching to get those guys to take their game to the next level.
>
>I like the Baker trade. They need a low post presence because they
>lacked that last year -- someone to get them some easy baskets down
>low. I think it was a great trade.

Now we all know Larry is a no-BS guy, so if he had had some
reservations about the trade I would think he would have said so --
or just have said I don't know.

Other comments of note:

>Nick (Boston): Is there any bad blood between you and the celtics franchise??
>Larry Bird: I don't really have a relationship with the team. They
>have changed a lot of people and I don't really keep in touch with
>anyone. I do keep in touch with some of the people I played with,
>but I have not been around the franchise at all. There is no bad
>blood. I talk with Red a couple of times a year but there just
>aren't any people there I have contact with.
>
>Brian (Charlotte): Larry, we would love to see you bring a team to
>Charlotte. Has there been any progress recently?
>Larry Bird: Not much. Right now it is the NBA and the Charlotte
>folks that are negotiating a new arena deal which is key to the
>deal. So we should know more in a couple of months.
