Re: predictions
I know it's difficult Lance, but try to keep up with the thread.
Talking about the game on Friday the 25th and the paper of the same morning
JB said- "I'm prompted to be the devil's advocate and grant a rational, to
those who might not have one, meaning in this case, Jimmy O'Brien, who
already said, in yesterday's paper that he wouldn't continue to play Walker
and Pierce 40 minutes a game and then went right ahead and did it anyway,
against the Wizards."
To which I responded- "I could be wrong but I read O'Brien's words
differently. I understood him to say he would play Walker and Pierce in
shorter stretches, taking them out sooner and more often for short breathers,
not that he would play them less minutes.I think it was always his intention
to play them 40 minutes."
And here is the snippet from the article in question:
O'Brien has settled on a nine-man rotation, with starters Tony Battie, Tony
Delk, Paul Pierce, Antoine Walker, and Eric Williams backed by Vin Baker,
Walter McCarty, Bruno Sundov, Shammond Williams.
''I will probably make some alterations in the substitution pattern,''
O'Brien said. ''I left guys on the court a little too long, and I should have
subbed a little quicker to make sure we are always as fresh as we can be on
the court.''
You see, no spinning required. He talks about substitution patterns and
leaving players on the floor too long, not playing anyone less minutes.
And if that's not enough for you we have this quote from the Herald on Oct
22nd:
``I'm increasing our minutes. Antoine and Paul will play 40 minutes
apiece in both of the games unless they are in foul trouble,'' O'Brien
said.
Well, what do you know? She can read and comprehend too! Even with her
lobotomy. It's a miracle!
If you would spend a little more time actually reading what is written and a
little less time trying to be a smart ass maybe you would have caught that
yourself.
After all, you are so superior to anyone else who deigns to share their
opinions here.
And yes, any day I mistakenly read any of your drivel is a bad day indeed.
