Is Shammond really 205 lbs?

You beat the Nets by shutting down Kidd and making their bench work extra
hard to get anything. You can't stop Kidd's shot with 6' PGs, but you CAN
stop him from getting where he wants to go with quicker men.

This is the one thing that bothers me about the Nets. Our present winning
formula is our defense (which showed up again last night) and our two scoring
stars. However, Kidd and his fast breaking prevents us from getting into our
no. 1 asset, the defense set. I'm not sure if a quicker guard is the answer
or that would have already been successful for other teams. I am thinking an
athletic larger guard. I am wondering how Kedrick would do against Jason, if
all he had to think about was slowing him down and preventing him from
passing. They tried Erik Williams who has the savvy on him last year but Kidd
left him in the dust.

A wild hope would be Shammond Williams although he doesn't have the height to
block the vision. But do you know that Shammond is listed at 205 lbs! I can't
find any other 6-1, 6-2 point guard near that weight! Kenny weighed a
whooping 168, Stockton at 175 but no one over 190 lbs. Shammond is all muscle
so it just doesn't seem right. Either he is shorter than listed or the weight
can't be right. I checked NBA.com and some previous basketball magazines and
they are all consistent. If he weighs that much, I would think he would be
able to body the opposing point guards more in the style of Erick Strickland.
You would think he would be more physical on defense than shown to date.
Maybe when he picks up the defense scheme. At any rate, since we have no hope
of getting a Gary Payton type, maybe we can develop Shammond enough to at
least irritate Kidd a little...
