Re: first preseason game

I must admit I missed a good five minutes of the second half

But at least in the first period, Paul Pierce looked
unselfish to me and showed good if not panoramic court vision.

Joe, he had excellent panoramic vision in the first half. Trouble was, he
was on the bench at the time. Pierce had a couple of break plays where he
made the right pass, and a feed to and from Walker when he cut without the
ball. In the second half he was abominable, with 4 TOs in about two minutes
of play, but made a nice finger roll, which he's saving for George Karl.

Antoine showed leadership, Paul didn't. It's like the coach asked the
captains to share the ball, and Paul forgot it after halftime. Tommy kept
saying he wants to win, and said Twan tried earlier in his career to "do too
much", and PP's in that stage. Tommy was critical of PP, though, forcing
shots when there was no need, and saying that the "book" is that PP will
shoot 90% of the time and defenders know it. One time PP set up to spin on
two guys and Thomas set up behind him, and THWACK. T.O. Baby. Pierce looked
like a naive rookie. But, he's used to dropping 20 in the second half, so
he was back at it until his fifth turnover.

Is he going to learn, or keep forcing his points? Inquiring minds want to
know. . ..
