NBA instant replay

Last night, the NBA finally got the chance to use instant replay--twice.

The first time was in Toronto, as a review was automatically called for on
a last moment tip-in, that would have won the game for the Raptors. The
replay clearly showed that the ball was still in the player's hand when
time expired, by the slimmest of margins. The basket was waived off, and
the Raptors proceeded to win in OT.

The second time was in Memphis, TN, in a game ALREADY in OT, to see if a
game winning shot by Tim Duncan of San Antonio was good. Again, the replay
clearly showed it was, no possibility of error.

So far, for anyone nervous about instant replay, the uses went smoothly, and
the decisions clearly reflected what the replay showed with no ambiguity.
