Demos Dikoudis

I think Ray may have actually understated the interest in Demos Dikoudis
(thanks, Ray, for the tip). The following blurb from a wire recap on
NBADraft.net indicates it's all but a done deal. I've copied his profile
from telebasket.com beneath that, and a link to his team site below that
(and stats below the link). I'd encourage everyone to check it out.

Sounds like a great free agent pickup, if true. Almost a perfect fit-big,
rugged, tough power forward who can shoot and rebound. Mature at 25, but
just entering his prime. You never know how these guys will translate to the
NBA, but this guy sounds like a good prospect to take a flyer on. If he's
anything like a Drobnjak in Seattle, he'd be a nice addition as a free
agent. Check it out. Kudos to Wallace if it's true.--Mark

of Greece will go to the Boston Celtics camp, during the July 15-22 period
he'll play in their summer league. His Greek representatives (agents) are
now in close touch with the American agent Bill Duffy and it is believed
that he is very close to being signed by the Boston Celtics. His team, AEK
Athens, must be paid a 1 million buy-out and that's a problem, but should be
solved. The Denver Nuggets also showed much interest on Dikoudis. For anyone
who can read Greek.

Strong, athletic player. Plays with good energy and hustle. Has a nice
shooting touch, can even hit 3pt shot. Solid rebounder and defender. He is
still young and this is his first serious season so he may stay awhile but
NBA its a goal. 45%

Strengths: A modern type Power Forward with both an inside and outside game.
Dikoudis is a hard working guy with well-built body, a bright player with
winning spirit and high energy. He has a good wingspan. Dikoudis has great
range; he is a high post and 3pt shooter of great percentages, has a good
inside pivot move, he likes facing up the defender, has a nice right
baby-hook shot. He is brutal, has good leaping ability and he is very
aggressive on the boards. Dikoudis runs the court well, he has extremely
adept dribbling skills for a player of his size; he likes finishing breaks
with a slam. His passing skills and knowledge of the game make him effective
when facing a double team. On the defensive end he is solid. He is a very
good transition defender with nice positioning and unbreakable block outs.

Weaknesses: He is just an adequate shot blocker. Needs to work his baseline
jumpers from both corners and his FT shooting. Adding weight could give him
the ability to occupy more space in the paint.
