Danger Signs For The Celtics Future: Miami Heat

Miami could be a better team than the Celtics next season.

Yes, they could.

It depends greatly on the health of Mourning and Grant and what
the Heat do to address their needs for a shooting forward and
a young point guard, and whether the players they select have a
immediate or delayed impact.

Miami has the 10th choice in the first round.

If the Heat want to kill two birds with one stone, they can draft
Jiri Welsch and utilize him at point forward in the offense,
shooting guard on defense, with E. Jones guarding
the small forward.

Welsch is a terrific Euro, who can shoot, has point guard skills,
and most importantly to a Pat Riley coached team, he can
play defense. Lke a lot of the recent Europeans, the 6-6 Welsch
from the Czech Republic is NBA ready and can have an immediate
impact.

Of a more delayed impact, would be them drafting Qyntel Woods, sort of
like
a middle-class-version of Lamar Odom, who Riley in the past, has
expressed
a great interest in acquiring. So Woods or Odom-lite, has to be
considered a
strong possible Miami selection.

Woods has already thrown down the gauntlet to Kedrick Brown saying that
he's a better player than Brown and should be drafted higher.

Other Miami possibilities are Jared Jeffries, and the Gasol-like
Nickoloz Tskitishvilli, a guy that the Celtics should desperately
trade up for.....
