Harrington suffered the injury with 8:42 to play in the fourth quarter
of the Pacers' 98-94 loss at Boston Wednesday night.

Harrington, a leading candidate for the NBA's Sixth Man Award this
season, was averaging 13.1 points (on 48 percent shooting), 6.3 rebounds
and 1.2 assists in 29.8 minutes per game, all career highs. The 6-9,
250-pound Harrington is in his fourth season with the Pacers after being
drafted in the first round (25th pick overall) in the 1998 NBA draft out
of St. Patrick's (N.J.) High School.

Pacers' team doctor Sanford Kunkel will perform the surgery Friday, Jan.
25. It is expected Harrington will make a full recovery and be ready for
training camp in October of 2002.
