Yuck.

I sure wish the C's could dispatch the league's detritus -- like the Heat,
the Bulls, etc. If the team could have hit even close to a respectable
percentage (say 40%) maybe they win, but you're not going to have a chance
shooting 28%. It wasn't the Heat's defense at all -- Celts had good looks
but just didn't nail them. Less often, they were hampered by their
unwillingness to move without the ball and willingness to settle for a
one-on-one move. One guy really stood out in that department, I thought:
Kenny Anderson. The way he's been playing, he's going to have some
sub-par nights but early in the game he seemed to take a lot of shots in
the paint, just throwing them up, not dishing or making the clean shot as
has been his wont in recent times. Still, nobody could get it going.
Makes you long for the days when there were more shots taken by Pierce and
Walker if it means performances like this.

And for those who like to think people blame the refs for losses: I
thought the officiating was pretty decent tonight -- a rarity for a crew
with Steve Javie on it, to be sure -- though later in the game some lame
calls were made. I'm thinking specifically of the one Kedrick Brown got
for being a rookie on the court. Still, the game was well put away by
then, so it hardly mattered.

I really hate losing to El Greaso, and what makes matters worse is the
fact I have a friend who lives near here who is a rabid Heat fan -- not
much for him to cheer about this year, but I'm sure the next time we speak
I'll have to listen to a lot of trash. Nuts. Ah, well. Maybe the
shooting gods will return tomorrow night. God help me if I have to listen
to Mr. Word-Mangler himself, Clyde.
