Re: Fascinating article on Wally Szczerbiak

Cecil, I get the same impression on Szczerbiak, and I think what's
interesting is the mainstream media's portrayal of the situation. Remember a
couple of weeks ago the "Wally being frozen out" stories? Wally, the
good-looking white kid, almost always has been portrayed as the good guy, at
least subtly. The truth is, Wally is the "selfish gunner" and his teammates
are trying set him straight. Just interesting.

As for the talent base... Walker is no KG, but Wally is no Pierce either.
Beyond that, how good is the T-Wolves' talent base? Nestervoic at center?
Joe Smith? Terrell Brandon is good. They have a few more serviceable spare
parts, but I don't think it's drastic. I think they get more out of their
talent than any team in the NBA.

I think you could say the Wolves have a tad deeper talent base than we do
though in all honesty. I read this article and I get the impression of
Wally being a snot-nosed punk who cares more about his being thought of as a
leader and getting his touches than anything else. But that's alright as
long as his goal is to win the games.
