Re: Thug wanted

I did not get to see the actual game. I did get to see the "hit" that
Stoudamire put on Pierce three or four times in replay though.

I do not think that it was a "head hunting" type of hit. An overly
aggressive attempt to block the shot, yes. A dangerous play by a
just-out-of-high school man-child, absolutely.

A hard foul? Even my dogs could see that. (Not referring to you guys,
Snoop and Lappy)

But it did not look like a purposeful cheap shot that was intended to hurt
someone, to me.

The Suns coach stated that he may have gotten in a fight if it was his
player that was hit. I'll bet Stoudamire will be sat down and talked
strongly to about his poor judgment by his coach.

It's the ref's who created the injury with their payback for Battie's
indiscretion.

I hope Pierce sue's them for endangerment. I'm waiting for Johnny Cochran
to pop up any moment.....

Peter opined:

Couldn't help thinking that if another player -
ESPECIALLY a rookie fresh outta high school -
clobbered Kidd or Iverson, somebody on the offended
club would have made him pay for it. Where was the
Celtic delivering a hard retaliatory foul? With no
Vitaly or Fortson, there's not an obvious candidate -
Sundov would probably throw out his back or something
- but SOMEBODY, E-Will or even Walker, should have
decked Stoudamire later in the game or given him a
nice hard elbow in the chops or ribs. I'm not saying
injure the guy, but you send a message that this is
OUR house and we protect our own if the refs won't.
That used to be the way the game was played.
