If Walker wants a gold medal, I hope he gets one.

While having NBA players, or any pros in an "amateur contest" may be a joke,
if the opportunity is there for him to play he should go for it if that's
what he wants.

At this point in his career ($) he is playing for his own benefit/ego.

What he may learn from this is "... not to step on the blue suede shoes" of
others.  Which would be a good thing, IMO.
