The Nuggets look like a calamity in the making. Hard to
believe their pick next year will be any higher than sixth
or seventh. In the upcoming draft, a top sixth or seventh
choice, puts you in the position to draft an impact point guard.

An impact point guard helps the Celtics much more than
Kedrick Brown, unless he develops into the next Tracy
McGrady.

The only caveat is if the Nuggets end up with a top three
choice. Then they keep the pick, improve their club,
and the Celtics lose out, as a future Denver choice
has much less value.

Here-in lies the great mystery of draft day. Not only could the C's
have waited a year to exercise Denver's pick, but they could have traded the
11, for both of Houston's picks. We could have picked up a point guard and a
center. Maybe Parker or Tinsley? Haywood or Woods? I believe either Murphy
or Radmanovick were also available when Houston drafted.
Wallace and O'Brien either were convinced that Brown will be the next
McGrady, or some other team used us as a straw, for a deal that, for certain
reasons, can't be consummated for six months.
