Mark, a fan's gotta do what he's gotta do. I actually want a federal
investigation on which flavors each player ordered. ;-)

Luckily its the pre-season. Obie claims they haven't really installed the
half-court offense yet, and that he'd prefer to have more practice time
rather than this five-game road trip. I'm sure the Celtics players are also
eager to sleep on their own beds again and be able to order takeout
delivery on their post-game Big Macs, KFC and Krispy Kremes.

I just want the Celtics to stay healthy on the trip and develop some team
identity and pride. I also want Obie to keep the rookies out there.
Compared to the other lotto rookies, these guys are actually right on track
and performing up to expectations. Adrian Griffin, Bryant Stith and even
Pierce never set the world on fire in the exhibition season either. They
basically did well in practice and had one or two good games towards the
end that kind of sealed a starting job for them. We still have four more
big games and two more weeks (that's 3,300 Krispy Kreme donuts) before the
real season begins.

Have you ever noticed that every box of 12 Krispy Kreme donuts usually
contains at least one, hugely overrated glazed sugar white boy
donut? That's because donut shops were invented in Boston back in the
Auerbach era. Okay, now I'm just parodying myself here. ;-) Joe
