Kentucky's Bogans, Prince among 11 to withdraw from NBA Draft

NEW YORK (TICKER) -- Let the Southeastern Conference take notice -- there will be no down year for Kentucky.
Wildcat stars Keith Bogans and Tayshaun Prince are among the 11 college players who have withdrawn their names from next week's draft, the NBA announced on Thursday.
Ten international players have also pulled out, including Greece's 6-11 Lazaros Papadopoulos, who was expected to be a high selection, possibly in the lottery.
Bogans (17.0 ppg), a 6-5 sophomore, and Prince (16.9 ppg), a 6-9 junior, combined to average nearly 34 points per game last season for Kentucky, which reached the NCAA Tournament's "Sweet 16."
The return of Bogans and Prince means Kentucky loses only starting point guard Saul Smith from a team that recovered from a poor start to finish 24-10.
Southern California, the team that defeated Kentucky in the NCAA Tournament, will welcome back 6-7 junior Sam Clancy, who has also pulled out of the draft. Clancy led the Trojans in scoring (17.3 ppg) and rebounding (7.5 rpg) last season.
Other notable draft withdrawals are Arizona guard Jason Gardner, who helped the Wildcats reach the national championship game, and North Carolina State swingman Damien Wilkins, who is the nephew of former NBA star Dominique Wilkins.
Rounding out the list are American forward Patrick Doctor, Central Connecticut forward Corsley Edwards, Miami center Reo Logan, Fresno State point guard Tito Maddox, guard Jawan Simpson of Puget Sound Christian College and forward Derick Singleton of St. Paul's College in Virginia.
