a note from Fox Sports re. Celtics and Gasol

CBS Sportsline and Fox Sports really are doing a good job of covering the
pre-draft camp. This came from a long list of notes from Fox Sports. Nothing
earth-shattering, but it includes another glowing review of Gasol. Some of
the other references (Chandler a top-five pick, Celts looking at Murphy or
Bradley) seem dated at best.

Here it is:

* Boston, with No.'s 10, 11 (when it officially exercises its option to
claim Denver's spot) and 21 picks in the first round, could be coaxed into
packaging a couple of those selections to move up in the lottery.

A possible target?

Pau Gasol, the 7-1 forward from Barcelona whose team in Spain will be owed a
$2.6 million payoff in Uncle Sam's currency to release him from the final
year of his contract.

Former NBA player John Williams, the one from Los Angeles who played at LSU
in the mid-80s, who now plays in Spain, told one NBA general manager that he
believes Gasol is a better prospect than prep player Tyson Chandler, who is
expected to be a top five pick.

Should the Celtics stay pat, Gasol (if he hasn't withdrawn from the draft
and still around), Troy Murphy of Notre Dame, Mike Bradley of Villanova and
Loren Woods of Arizona are possibilities at 10 and 11, with Arizona's
Gilbert Arenas looking very sweet to Boston at No. 21.
