I agree whole heartedly about needing veteran
toughness to this team, but is Nazr that animal? Can he be tougher than
Potapenko? My #1 request at this point would be for a shot blocker. I'd like to
trade some cap garbage; Williams and Walter, say, for Toronto's cap garbage;
Yogi Stewart(who is an embarrasment to Raptor mangement),if nothing else
develops.
If Stith will agree to a one year deal, I'd sign
him, if not aa release or a sign and trade.
Wesley is going
to get a lot of money and way too many years, from
Charlotte.
I am not thrilled with Palacio, he's not a point
guard by nature, but sometimes there is a destiny attached to certain players. I
keep thinking about the 9 point guards who were injured and/or useless, before
Milt came in and stabilized that position a bit. I like a player who shows
marked improvement over the course of a season. He accomaodates Antoinabee's
point guard ambitions very well, giving us the tough defense and the lack of
ego, that would make it impossible for a true point guard to play
here.

I agree on Stith and was just using a
Wesley as an example of a guy, like a John Starks that has had a decent NBA
career.
A couple of years ago I was big on Stewart
after seeing him play for Sacramento. But after seeing guys like Vladimir
Stepania and others outplay him badly in summer league, and not
seeing him really progress in the last 2 years, I would prefer not to have
anything to do with him. I don't see him giving us anything Battie hasn't, which
is not much. Maybe Walker's off-season effort will inspire Battie to get it
together and become the player his high draft selection warranted. To me with
Tony it is a motivational thing. he needs someone to motivate him and just get
tougher under the boards. As far as Nzar I was really impressed with his play on
Shaq in a few games last year. He did much more than I could ever expect from
VP.
