Re: Mutombo Rumor

I guess some ex-Dallas Mavricks are managing the Denver Nuggets. Why would anybody in there right minds give up on two proven big men for an aging center. I agree that Denver hasn't been playing well but if Mutombo were that good why is the Philly lagging behind in the rankings.
Does anybody know whether Mutombo is in his contract year in which case one could understand that Denver might be trying to move some contracts which they are not very pleased about.

Dikembe Mutombo could be a part of a blockbuster trade.(AP)
The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that the Nuggets are interested in Dikembe
Mutombo, who played with Denver from 1991 to 1996. According to the Inquirer,
the Nuggets would offer Antonio McDyess and Raef LaFrentz to the Sixers in
exchange for Mutombo, Matt Harpring and Speedy Claxton. General Manager Billy
King said he has spoken with Denver, but says he speaks with every team
anyway.
