Another opinion on the big issues of the day

You can look at the Moiso trade two ways. You can say, well they were lucky
to get anything for Moiso. And, not only did they get a late first round
draft pick, they got a player who can be useful by giving their draft picks
time to adjust to the NBA and they also improved their salary situation.

You can also look at it and say, but Moiso was the 11th pick in the draft just
a year ago. He should have been worth more than that. The fact that you can
trade him for a player who's major asset is his expiring contract and a draft
pick that will be a long shot when it is used, probably several years from
now, proves what a bad draft pick Moiso was in the first place.

And you know what? Both views are true. When the Celtics made this trade,
they were making the best of a bad situation. So, while I'm happy with what
Wallace did this week, I'm disappointed because I still had not completely
given up on Moiso. Now I have no choice but to conclude that he's a huge
bust, and that's not a good thing.

As far as the real important issue of "How does this make Ray look?" I think
you've got to admit that he was right from the start. Jerome Moiso was a poor
draft pick for the Celtics. Now, about the bizarre assertion that they could
have gotten something decent for Moiso at the trade deadline last year (yeah
right) or the interesting way he devalues all players at the 2/3 positions
(hello, I'm Courtney Alexander), I wouldn't presume to give advice to the
master, but perhaps he should have quit while he was ahead.
