Projo on Walker's PG experiment

FWIW, Obie and Walker in yesterday's Providence Journal:

"(....)I think that he (Walker) can be a very, very good point guard and
maybe change the complexion of our basketball team," O'Brien said. "If
you can put Antoine at the point and play a big lineup with everybody on
the court around him, other than the center, capable of shooting the
3-pointer, it makes it very difficult for other teams to guard you. I
thought it worked well against Indiana. I thought it worked very, very
well against these guys."

Walker, who had 37 points, nine rebounds and seven assists in Friday's
overtime loss to Indiana, finished with 22 points, six rebounds and 12
assists in yesterday's 95-88 win over the Nets at the FleetCenter.

Walker says he is excited about the prospect of playing the point.

"Hopefully, it really happens," he said. "I'm going to work real hard
this summer on developing little things that a point guard needs,
obviously trying to fine tune my ballhandling because a lot of teams are
going to do what New Jersey started off doing and that's playing smaller
guys on me and working me.

"I like it. I like it a lot. I think it's going to make us a much more
versatile team because I'm still going to be able to play the forward
when we come in with our other point guards. We're just trying to mix up
things and be a very versatile team right now.

"If you look at Indiana's success, they spread you out so well with good
shooters, and they're able to play Jalen (Rose) at the point. We're
trying to get some of that same type of dimension. I'm still going to
guard the power fowards, and obviously there are still a lot of wrinkles
that we have to work out of it. But it's something that we're really
looking forward to doing next season."
