The Bob Gibbons All Star Report rates DeSagana Diop (7-0 310 pounds) as the top prep
center, ahead of Eddy Curry (whose height is coming into question). Diop averaged 14
points, 13 rebounds and 8 blocked shots for the nation's number one team Oak Hill Academy
(VA), but had a season ending ankle injury in late February and missed the McDonald's All
America Game (Curry was the MVP). He's never been much of a scorer for Oak Hill, but he's
said to have improved dramatically his senior year while others have been relatively
disappointing.

FWIW, power forward import Ousmane Cisse (a possible Pitino recruit to Louisville because
his brother plays there) is rated as the number one overall player in the nation by that
scouting service, just ahead of bluechip guards Kevin Tolbert (Michigan State) and DaJuan
Wagner (Memphis). Tyson Chandler, who has already declared for the draft, is rated number
six. Power forward Kwame Brown (choosing between Florida and the NBA) is rated fourth.
