Arenas joins three Arizona teammates in leaving early for NBA draft
Sophomore Gilbert Arenas on Thursday became the fourth member of the
Arizona basketball team to declare for the NBA draft, leaving the NCAA
Tournament runners-up with no returning starters for next season.

The 6-foot-3 Arenas led the Wildcats in scoring this season with an
average of 16.2 points per game. Arenas was one of the keys to Arizona‘s
run to the national championship game. Over the last 23 games of the
season, he averaged 17.4 points and 2.5 steals. He also connected on 52
percent of his field goal attempts and led the team to a 20-3 record
during that span.

DePaul's Simmons declares for NBA draft
Junior Bobby Simmons of DePaul has decided to place his name in the NBA
draft pool. However, the 6-7 forward/guard has not signed with an agent
and will remain enrolled at DePaul to maintain his college eligibility.
A three-year starter, Simmons is the only player in DePaul history to
have 1,000 points, 700 rebounds, 200 assists and 100 3-point field goals
in a career. He led the Blue Demons in scoring (16.7 points) rebounding
(8.6 rebounds) and 3-point field goals (61) last season. He was the only
player in Conference USA to be ranked among the league‘s top 10 in
scoring, rebounding and 3-point field goals made.
