Re: Pierce upgraded; Get well wishes

    I already sent a brief get well note to the various addresses given,
but maybe we should also send a group IGTC "get well, Paul Pierce"
e-mail on behalf of the whole internet list, with the first draft
written by Dan Forant and then posted for further editing by Dorine,
Bentz and the others. I'm half kidding, of course, but it might be an
amusing exercise, not to mention a  way to get Paul Pierce to know
something about our list. I'd love to see what a Dan Forant "get well"
card to Paul Pierce would read like...."Dear Paul, quit the death wish
buddy, quit hanging out with low-lifes, getting a fix, eh?...you'll get
plenty of that now through the intravenous tubes. You're not welcome in
my family but I do want you to continue entertaining me by dribbling and
shooting that ball with your 'homies'....etc."  ;-)

    No but seriously, in the past whenever Dan articulates his positions
he is quite clear in logic and his principles, deserving credit IMO even
if we disagree. I can think of several examples of this in the past. But
some of his other posts sound like they were written by a completely
different person...like by some suburban, dysfunctional cracker or
something. Offensive stuff that is inappropriate in timing. I still say
he's pulling our leg. I think we're all just kind of relieved by the
good news on Pierce, and expressing it in different ways (sarcasm,
humor, a shorter fuse etc.) I also know I'm on the soapbox now. Time to
get off.
