Peirce appears to be ok

Thanks goodness it appears he is going to be ok.  The season however, will 
not be so lucky.................

Celtics guard Pierce stabbed
                  Associated Press

                  Monday, September 25, 2000

                  Boston Celtics forward Paul Pierce was stabbed multiple 
times early
                  Monday outside a nightclub, according to a broadcast report.

                  Pierce, 22, was stabbed 11 times, including once in the 
neck, WEEI
                  radio reported citing hospital sources. He was in and out 
of surgery
                  and ``appears to be very lucky,'' WEEI said, quoting an 
unnamed
                  hospital source.

                  WEEI reported Pierce walked himself to the hospital.

                  Team spokesman Jeff Twist said he had no confirmation.
