RE: Saving for the future?



even if Pitino barely gets into the playoffs that would be an improvement
and the future will look decent with 2 or 3 #1s next year which can be
packaged in a sign and trade (along with some large contract (Kenny Anderson
notably)) for one of the many attractive free agents next year.

Difference is teams like Indiana can gamble on an O'Neal, Boston shouldn't.
Would you rather have O'Neal this year or someone like Webber (or similar)
next year.  Boston needs to know what it has coming in return - we have
already made a ton of bets on potential.

I don't disagree at all with any move the Celtics have made this off-season.
I disagree with the length of Randy Brown's contract but even that isn't a
cap-killer.

That's my take anyway.
