BSG reader rant

jwoods21@yahoo.com WRITES:
People think that I'm an idiot because I like Antoine Walker and his game a
lot more than Paul Pierce and his game. The reason why I do is because I
don't think that Paul Pierce plays as hard as Antoine. I don't think it's
even close. People talk about Antoine's shot selection but when Toine goes
for 30 he shots 11-19, generally. It seems whenever Pierce has a big night
it's a 9-24 shooting night. It also seems that when things are going bad for
Paul Pierce early that they are bad the whole game. There's no snapping out
of it.

A prime example was last Saturday, we face the unbeaten Cavs which such
defensive studs as Lamond Murray and Matt Harpring and all Paul can
contribute is 2-11 with a game losing turnover. People were saying how
unlucky he was about that toilet bowl three with under a minute to go, well
I watched the replay and Harpring was flying out at Pierce and Toine was
WIDE OPEN on the baseline. A little more unselfishness and we probably win
that game. I might be nitpicking, but this is stuff that is going to hurt
the Celtics later on. It just seems like Pierce gets the attitude every once
in a while of "Laddi da, I'll just go out here and shoot my 15 footer and
not go to the rack harder than anyone in the NBA like I can." While Toine
definitely can't turn down an open look from three point range he still
gives that effort and will trying to get something going to the hoop when
he's not feeling it.

I just want to know if I'm completely crazy because you described Walker as
extremely frustrating, but I find it a lot more frustrated to watch Pierce
mail one in especially in game number 3 of 82. A bad Walker game isn't
necessarily a mail in.
