Latest Mock Lottery Draft

After the latest Celtics lottery debacle -- Do they ever
catch a break? -- it's time for another mock draft:

1. New Jersey - Kenyon Martin 
Insurance for Jayson Williams, or gives them a quality frontcourt
if Williams returns. Bad news for the C's either way.

2. Vancouver - Stromile Swift
Big time power forward they need, unless he pulls a Steve Francis.

3. LA Clippers - Marcus Fizer 
Replaces Mo Taylor, although they could trade down with Chicago
or Orlando for mutiple picks.

4. Chicago - Chris Mihm
Jerry wipe that frown off your face. 

5. Orlando - Joel Pryzbilla
They could go for Mike Miller or Darius Miles, but Pryzbilla gives them
another shotblocker besides Bo, and makes more sense with Corey
Magette being groomed at small forward.

6. Atlanta - Mike Miller
They get their man.

7. Chicago - Darius Miles
Filling out their frontcourt.

8. Cleveland - Iakovos Tsalkalidis
I gave serious thought to placing Courtney Alexander here, but Iakovos
is
either insurance or tradeable in the future.

9. Houston - Courtney Alexander
Best available player.

10. Orlando - Dermarr Johnson
Insurance and talent if they let go of Mercer.

11. Boston - Olumide Odeyaje or Big 02
This is the Joe Hironaka - Pitino/Wallace keep silent about whom you
truly want or having unexpected players turn up
conspiracy, i.e. taking Mercer at 6, Paul Pierce making it down to
10, eyeing Shawn Marion at 8, etc. And the C's want an athlete,
and you can't get much more athletic than Big O2. Now, if I could just
spell his name right.  

12. Dallas - Morris Peterson
Mo Pete is a steal...

13. Orlando - Etan Thomas
Shotblockers galore...
