Re: Guard situation

Dan, you said: "I assume you mean contenders for the
Championship? I don't see that happening for several
years unless certain positions are filled. Like with
or without Anderson we need backup at point no matter
who is starting guard. Next we need a center. Doesn't
have to be great, but it has to be a center.
Preferably one that can play defense and solidify the
middle, if he
can score it's a bonus." -- My feelings exactly, which
is why I think now is the time to move KA. He has
maximum trade value and is our most tradable commodity
(that we are willing to part with). If you think we
won't be contenders for at least 2 or 3 years, he must
go, whether it is for a new guard or to address the
need of a bigger player. I wouldn't even mind going
with Barros if we had to for his last year
(Contract...showcase him like Philly did in
'95...:)..) to address something else.

I respectfully disagree with getting rid of Forty. If
Pitino stays and pursues the blitz, then ok (he's
probably gone anyway), but if Pitino goes or changes
his system to a more traditional half court game, I
think he is invaluable. He should practice his
shuffling (Did Tommy Heinson say dance lessons?) over
the summer. I really like his game. How many unselfish
players are out there that like to rebound? Young guys
always get calls for fouls. You wait and see. If he
goes somewhere else, he'll be big in a couple of years
and we'll lament.

Something tells me Ron Mercer may wish he took the $30
mil from Gaston.

I thought the PP post was a joke. If that really is
you Paul, we love you. Don't be afraid to show up more
often. It is/will soon enough be your team. We won't
bite :)
