I have to agree with Cecil. Although I think Pitino has made some poor
player decisions its not like this teams inability to play defense or
consistency even the big 2 , are the coaches problem, but his signing the
likes of McCarty & Battie to long term contracts and thinking they could be
low post players is.  Mercer would have been just another overpaid one
dimensional player and as his other teams have mentioned just playing for
himself.  I don't expect him to get anything near what Pitino offered him,
but hen again there is always some fool out there willing to give the likes
of Mcilavine $5-$10M a year so who knows..
