There was no way Pitino would have been considered at North Carolina. They
stay in their "family" and their rivalry with Kentucky is too bitter.
However, if Roy Williams takes the Carolina job, as AP is reporting, then
Kansas becomes one of the premier jobs in the country. They haven't been
opposed to hiring high-profile types before (Larry Brown). The Pitinos seem
to favor a more metropolitan lifestyle that they won't find in Lawrence,
Kans., but if he's willing to listen to Miami, you'd certainly think Kansas
might make him pause.

I thought we were past this point until next year, but you never know.
