Celtics Notes

- Greg Minor's salary for next season -- his last with the C's -- is
$3.2 million.

- Bill Reynolds questions the Antoine 4:00 A.M. restaurant story.

- C's are hot after Croshere, so much so, that when Chris Wallace
and Pitino met with him, Wallace was wearing a Croshere Celtics jersey.

- Peter May questions the existence of both Croshere and Walker
playing together. Says they're both power forwards. Well, Peter
the answer is blowing in the wind, the trade winds...

- The C's were one of 17 teams inquiring about Ben Wallace.

- Matt Geiger and his 15 percent increase in salary if he's traded
is available.

- Don't rule out Mark Jackson being a Celtic next season.

- Chris Wallace was surprised the Big O2 lasted until the second
round. Yah, well maybe if you didn't trade away your draft picks,
you could have taken him. And Wallace loves Josip Sesar - thought
he might have a chance to go in the first round.

- Former Celtics draftee, Ben Pepper, died in Australia from a rabid
boomerang accident. Nah, he's still alive, its his chances of ever
playing with the Celtics that are dead.

- The Fortson situation with the Celtics is a iffy one. If they do sign
him
to an extension at $4 million or so a year, it will be very hard to
trade
him, because so many clubs are over the cap and Fortson is in
the first year of his base salary. If they don't sign him, he's gone
with no compensation in return. The best thing might be
to do is re-sign him and wait till after next season to deal him,
when you can receive 75 percent of his salary in return.

- The C's were going to receive Portland's first round pick in
the recently concluded draft, if they had completed the O'Neal trade.
