Fortson on Toronto papers

Another little bit of truth is out "I'm not going to be on the front of
the press, chasing little guards," Fortson said. Not following/taking
instructions from Coach P?

Fortson wants a home
By BILL HARRIS -- Toronto Sun
Danny Fortson is in just his third NBA season but already has been
traded three times.
 "I don't want to be a journeyman -- I'm only 23," Fortson, the newest
member of the Raptors, said yesterday at the Air Canada Centre.
"I just want to sit down for 10 minutes. I'm sick of this. I would like
to be some place where I don't have to worry about packing my bags. But
I would still rather be doing this than working in the post office."
Fortson was traded to the Raptors by the Celtics for guard Alvin
Williams and forward Sean Marks on Wednesday. In a related move, the
Celtics agreed not to claim guard Haywoode Workman on waivers. He
subsequently was plucked by the Raptors.
Fortson was in Toronto yesterday to take a physical. He was scheduled
to fly back to Boston yesterday afternoon to tie up loose ends.
"Let's just say I don't go on vacation now (for the all-star break),"
Fortson said. "So much for the Bahamas."
How long Fortson will be a Raptor remains to be seen.
He's a free agent at the end of this season, so the Raptors may hang on
to him for now with an eye toward the salary-cap relief they would get
next summer if he is not re-signed. On Wednesday night, Raptors coach
Butch Carter made no attempt to hide his skepticism as to whether
Fortson can help.
"I don't know if I'm going to be here, I don't know if they want me, I
don't know anything ... right now I'm a little confused," Fortson said.
"I don't know how it's going to work. I'm not the coach or the GM. All
I know is I'm here and I'm going to work hard."
Fortson is in the final year of a three-year, $4.3-million US contract.

The 6-foot-7, 260-pound forward was drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks in
1997, but immediately dealt to the Denver Nuggets, where he played his
first two seasons. A 1999 trade to Boston was a horrible fit for
Fortson, and a foot injury earlier this season worsened matters.
"I'm not going to be on the front of the press, chasing little guards,"
Fortson said when asked about the trap-happy Celtics. "I can't do that.
"The Raptors have a winning record and a good upside. In Boston, we
were 21-28 and the ship was sinking pretty fast."
Fortson is expected to be on hand Monday for the Raptors' next practice
