Re: Bird says no to working for the Celts down the road

Dan, you must be smokin the same weed as Rick PitEGO. Heading in the right
direction?? If you mean doomed to lottery/Clipperdom your correct. That is
the direction of this team. I have never seen any team pro or otherwise
with a greater collection of role players. PitEGO's goal must be to have 12
interchangeable players that he can put in and not have to worry about it.
If he just gets rid of Pierce, Walker, & Anderson then we'll have the most
balanced team in the league. We didn't draw comments of the Washington
Generals the other night against the Nets just because we didn't play
defense. The Celts have acted all year long like they are trying to make
the other teams look good, and doing a fine job of it I might add, just like
the Generals. So no Dan, other than Pierce luckily falling to us via the
draft and Anderson not wanting to play for the team he was traded to, we are
in NO better shape today than we were when ML was in command. We are going
the wrong way FAST!!. I hope Gaston realizes that he can get anyone off the
street to do as good as Pitego and pay him much less!! Lets hope for a
contract buyout at the end of the year and maybe Bird will come back. I
wouldn't come back to this circus either. Don't blame Larry because he is
to smart to get mixed up in this farce. Troy

Sounds like sour grapes from Bird. These guys are never satisfied anyway,
so screw him. Right or wrong Pitino didn't want any part of him when he
took over. No room for 2 big ego's. The Celtic team is headed in the right
direction. Just a player or two away from respectability.
