big (non-celtics) trade going down

NBATalk (OK, OK so the source isn't exactly Edward R. Murrow) says the
Knicks will trade Ewing to Seattle and get back Vin Baker and Glen Rice in a
blockbuster 4-way.

It goes something like this:

NYK get: Baker, Rice
Seattle gets: Ewing (plus Mo Taylor will sign there)
Lakers get: Christian Laettner
Detroit gets: A bunch of short-contract cap filler and first-rounders from
NY and LA

OK, if this happens, it's interesting for a few reasons: 1. It drastically
changes NY. I didn't say it makes them better, because that depends on what
has to be coming next-a trade of Houston or Sprewell. We'll see what the
Knicks get in return for one of those guys. The Knicks suddenly seem like a
really unbalanced team, but one with a lot of talent. If they make the right
moves, look out. 2. The Lakers get a power forward, but he isn't exactly
what they hoped. Laettner is a decent player, but he's not a great defender
or rebounder, so you have to wonder what he brings that Robert Horry
doesn't. Nothing but size and a bad attitude, in my opinion. 3. Finally,
Detroit is puzzling. They take on Chucky Atkins and Ben Wallace in the Hill
sign-and-trade, then seem to be in salary-dumping mode here. I don't kwow
which direction they're going, but they seem to be sinking fast.

I'll pitch this: Vitaly, Kenny and a pick for Houston?
