Clips & Mo Taylor

In another brilliant move, Elgin Baylor has refused to sign Taylor to an
extension, although Falk has warned he'll demand a trade if they don't extend
him. I'm generally not a big fan of players holding franchises hostage (see
Ron Mercer), but this seems like a boner for the Clips, considering that
Taylor -- for all his shortcomings as a rebounder -- is one of few guys they
have who can put the ball in the hole. A frontcourt of him, Olowakandi and
Odom could be solid, but it looks like those dreams are going to go the way of
Lorenzen Wright, Danny Manning, et al. Donald Sterling's cheapness is the
reason that franchise always has sucked and always will while he's the owner.

They traded for Eric Murdock, which might be an upgrade at the point, but not
much of one. If Odom struggles, they'll be in trouble without Johnny Newman.
