Ray,
I know this kissy-kissy, butt swabbing stuff bores you to tears, but I think 
you're right on the money here.  Not only does Ryan rip into white athletes 
when he feels like it (doesn't he tear Pete Rose apart today?), but he also 
praises other black ones (isn't Bill Russell a god to him?).
