Or Samaki Walker, John Wallace or Shandon Anderson for that matter. :-)
If anything, the new salary cap is making the NBA "middle class" poorer,
not better paid. It seems like a total win for the owners.

Battie, Fortson and Mercer ought to hear a balanced account from their
agents before electing to hold out until they are free agents, which now
seems likely. A year ago, Samaki Walker looked like he would sign for
considerably more than Battie or Fortson.

Anyway, the Celts went with a need in Cal Cheaney. The guy is a plug &
play screen jump shooter who has a Celts playbook tailor made for him,
thanks to Ron Mercer's departure. Cheaney will likely have more minutes
and immediate impact with the Celts than would an additional power
forward backing up Fortson, Battie and Toine.
