Re: The Boston Celtics Mailing List Digest V6 #485

Peter,

As is the normal habit of some of the listees, you make it appear that the
C's PURPOSELY play down to the level of their opponent. I'm not so sure
this is the case, so much as the fact that Hoiberg had a great game. Our
guys are not the only athletes in the NBA and sometime you just have to
admire the ability of some of the other players. Our guys are still among
the youngest in the league, therefore losses like this will happen
periodically. What you can't do is dwell on them to the point of ignoring
the fact that we are off to one of our best starts in recent memory.

Mr. Walker, from Bill's report, had a very solid game last night. I saw the
Rick Pitino Show and he said that Toine has worked very hard on his free
throws, knowing that it will pay off in the end. But he said that the game
which we won versus the Knicks, could have been lost if Spree hadn't missed
both freebies, and he's an 80% shooter.

I'm sure you get tired of me saying that you have to wait to let this team
mature, but some people want the impossible right now. Being 6-4 is a very
good record at this time. After all, we were playing for a share of 1st
place last night, right? What is the average age of this team?

Cecil
