                  *GARY PAYTON's assertion aside that he wants to play his 
                  entire career in Seattle, sources say the Timberwolves are 
                  prepared to offer a re-signed Terrell Brandon (it's doubtful 
                  he'll want to stay in Minnesota) and two first-rounders (one 
                  belonging to the Nets) to the Sonics for The Glove. If the 
                  overture is rejected, bank on the Blazers being presented with 
                  roughly the same proposition for Damon Stoudamire. Regardless 
                  of how far Portland advances in the playoffs, don't be 
                  surprised if team president Bob Whitsitt accepts.
