The Boston Celtics Strengths&Weaknesses

Hi everybody, my name is NAME REDACTED and I have always been a
Celtics fan. I am from Sacramento, California, not from Boston, but I
still follow this team. Here is my two cents on this team.
The Celtics have a young team with talent, no question about it. The
problem is that we are not producing wins. First of all our frontcourt
defense is a problem. Teams outrebound us and the bigger centers in this
league, like Shaq and Hakeem are giving us problems upfront. Consistency
is another big problem for us. Some nights we will play real well, and
the next night the intensity just is not there. Shooting has sometimes
hurt us since we are unable at times to make the big shots. We are
missing free-throws, which there is no excuse for. The Celtics have very
little experience and at times veteran teams will outplay us. 

The NBA lockout this year really hurt us more than we think. We haven't
been able to practice well since the lockout and the team did not get a
chance to adjust to the new year. 

The Celtics have great talent as I have said before, but this year I am
very disappointed. If you look at last year and compare it to this year,
our defense was much better, as well as our shooting, as well as our
rebounding and our intensity. 

Here are some good things about the Celtics that I want to point out.
Paul Pierce is playing quite well as a rookie. He will only get better.
Mercer is getting better, especially his shooting ability. Walker is the
man, Anderson is the ideal point guard, Barros plays well off the bench,
etc. The talent is there. 

We need to utilize the talent, because the talent is there. Lets utilize
it. 

What do the Celtics need? 1) A big man. A big body that will rebound
well upfront, a big man that will be able to defend up front. Rebounds,
defsnse, we need this upfront. We can move Walker to small forward if we
have to. This team can do it, I believe it.

SG-Mercer
SF-Pierce
PF-Walker
Center-Potapenko

I love this lineup, except for the fact that the center can be better. I
say that we get a center like Geiger and Potapenko can come off the
bench. Geiger would really help us. I also like guys like Smits,
Stewart, or even theo Ratliff. I know it will be hard to get these guys,
you dont have to tell me, and unfortunately I know that we may not be
able to pay these guys well. But a big name center on this team would be
ideal for us. 

Here are some concerns: Money. We need to make sure that Kenny, Pierce,
Mercer and Walker are happy. This is gonna be the key to the Celtics
winning. We cannot afford to lose this guy.

Positive thing: Knight is gone. I am so glad because now some money will
be free under our salary cap. 
So that's a good thing.

Minor, Ellison: They have to go.....
