another need to address

Although most of you on this list have been bashing "the Ukrain Train"
these past few days, he is definitely better than Riley and Schintzus
combined. As the seson progresses he will prove to all you doubters
that he can flat-out play, just don't expect him to put up all-star
stats as of yet. So now that the Celtics have addressed their "big man"
problem, it's now time to address the "shooting" problem. Ever since
Paul Pierce turned his ankle the C's have lost 5 games. Yes the team
misses his 16+ points and 7+ rebounds a game. But the thing they miss
most is his outside shooting. They just dump the ball down to AW and the
resof them just waits for the outcome. The Celt's have some excess
baggage named Barros, Minor, & Mcarty that needs to be shiped out.
Barros may be able to hit from down-town but the problem is that's the
only shot he can hit. He is not a threat from anywhere else on the
court and he can't play the 1 spot so I say ship him and his $2 mil.+
salary out. Minor may be useful on defense but he is useless from
beyond fifteen feet on offense, so ship him out as well. As for Mcarty,
the anchor of the so called "bomb squad" that as of recently has bombed
out, he should get his act together. I love the energy he brings every
game that he plays, but if energy is the only thing he can offer then he
has to go. Walter is quick, can definitely leap, can run like a
gazelle. He can be a great rebounder if he wanted to. But it seems to
me that he is content with the role he is playing. One Bruce Bowen-type
of player on the team is enough. The rookie draft doesn't offer much
outside shooting unless that Blue Devil named Langdon comes out. So
just trade Barros and/or Minor (I think Mcarty will be a free agent at
the end of the seaon)for a shooter who can play some D. I can only
think of Eric Piatkowsky (has 3-point range and is a hard nosed
defender) from the Clippers, Cal Cheaney of the Wizards, Bobby Jackson
(definitely better than Barros) from the T-wolves, and maybe even Elliot
Perry of the Nets. Any of these guys will definitely be more useful.
Heck maybe even Brian Evans (as of recently with the T-wolves)
can perform better.
