Unless Oakley feels he's already made enough money that he can play for a 1.75
exemption I doubt we'll see him in green. I also don't know what "quality
point guard" can be had for Walker or whomever unless Brandon doesn't sign
with The T-wolves and we work a sign & trade with the Terri-Bulls (who
humiliated the Knicks tonight) and I don't think that's sufficient value.

I'd rather pass on Oakley and see if I could interest the Knicks in Kenny
Anderson as part of a package for Camby & Ward. Ward has his shortcomings but
he has shown improvement each year (played a hell of a game vs. Marbury),
doesn't shoot so much but can hit the 3, and seems to be suited to a more up-
tempo style than the Knicks play. Camby can give us a defensive presence
behind VP or at the 4. We'd probably have to include Battie & Popeye to make
the salaries work and give the Knicks players to fill their needs as well.
Maybe then we could sign someone like Ron Harper to the exception to add a
defensive quasi-point to the second unit.

As for where was Potapenko - his Chinese take-out had arrived. ;)
