Ever since he drafted Billups against his own better judgment, I believe
Rick Pitino has been looking to find another point guard who controls
tempo like Mark Jackson.

Mark Jackson has feet made of lead maybe even compared to Andre Miller,
but he gave Pitino a confident ROY (I think) and a 50+ win season. Andre
Miller has a lot of the same tools and weaknesses as Mark Jackson, plus
he's level-headed and mature (like Chauncey) and he always finds a way
to help his team win, even without Van Horn or Doleac.

I don't really have a reliable opinion on Miller, nor do I have a
reliable opinion about Jason Terry (another reputedly solid defensive
player among other things). Both could turn out to be a bust, but so
could a lot of other guys in the 1999 draft.

IMO, the Celtics are one more solid passer away from blossoming into a
beautiful club to behold. And they are one great rebounder away from
being a dangerous championship contender.
