That's an interesting point, Joe.  Perhaps the biggest clash of egos might
not be between Penny and Walker, Pierce, et al--but between Penny and
Pitino.

This situation is the antithesis of the conventional adage where the
veteran, ultra-rich players refuse to listen to their (relatively) low-paid
coaching contemporaries, as Pitino is as wealthy and egotistical as
Penny himself!  Also, Pitino's job-tenure is secure (unlike Brian Hill's, who
Hardaway ostensibly rode out of Orlando on a rail), so Penny wouldn't
be able to put the same kind of pressure on Boston's management to get
his own way.
