News on Celtics TV Games

Here is an Article from the Boston Globe about the Celtics TV Games.

Celtics: No air ball

Now that Channel 68 has been sold to PAX television, the Celtics don't have
a television home for next season. Fox Sports, the team's cable partner, has
proposed airing the rest of the team's games, but Celtics officials don't
want all their games exclusively on cable.

The problem is that there are limited choices. Most of the local stations
are affiliated with networks with heavy prime-time programming commitments.
Even Channel 56, which airs Red Sox games along with New England Sports
Network, has a full slate of programs sent down from Warner Brothers.

Channel 38 is a logical choice, but no one knows whether they want to pony
up to pay the rights fee.

One possible solution includes airing the bulk of the games on Fox Sports
New England and striking a deal to air the remaining games on an
over-the-air partner.

But in this day and age of exclusivity, selling advertising would be much
more difficult, especially if viewers don't know which station has which
game on which night.
