NBA.COM notes on the Summer Leagues

There's news on Pitino-favorite Dirk Nowitzki as well as Ringo
DeClercq/Andre Miller.

Mavs' Nowitzki Shines at FILA Summer Pro League
LONG BEACH, Calif., July 22 — The FILA Summer League has become the Dirk
Nowitzki show, as the Dallas rookie has topped the 30 point plateau in
three straight games. Nowitzki had 32 points and 9 rebounds in
Thursday's 112-109 win over Orlando as Dallas improved to 5-1 in summer
league play. The one-year Mavs veteran scored 33 points in a loss to
Milwaukee on Wednesday and had 31 points and 9 rebounds in Sunday's win
over Portland. During the three-game stretch, Nowitzki has hit 33-of-65
from the field, and is averaging 32.0 ppg and 8.0 rpg.

--------

During the three-game tournament Atlanta Summer Shootout from July 15-17
at Life University in Marietta, Ga. , Andrew DeClercq averaged a Cavs
team-highs of 15.7 ppg and 11.0 rpg while shooting .656 (21-32) FG%.

Andre Miller, the Cavs first round pick (eighth overall), averaged 10.7
ppg and 4.7 apg.

Even though the host Atlanta Hawks (0-3) failed to pick up a win, there
were bright spots. Chief among them was the tournament-high 30-point
effort by rookie point guard Jason Terry in Thursday's opener.
