Re: Celtics benefit from three-way deal



The team that benefits the most from this deal is the
Lakers.  As Michael Holley said about Elden Campbell
on WEEI: "Bow Wow, Woof Woof."  Coach Pinochio is
certainly loading up on players with long-term
contracts -- so much for him telling us about short-term
contracts and cap flexibility -- as Wesley is signed to 2004
in a 7-year deal for $21 million, I believe.  

The good news if the trade comes through is Wesley is more of a pure
point guard than Barros; better defensively and better for this system, 
and as Warwick notes, allows Pitino to deal Anderson at any time.  
In fact Anderson may have to be dealt, because now the team will 
have $10 million invested in point guards, and that's an awful large
slice of the salary cap pie.  There's a lot of teams out there
who need a veteran point guard. 

Things will really get popping if the C's take a PG in the draft...
