Re: FWD: 1999 N.B.A. Draft Prospects (Senior Class)

Here's Owen O'Malley's list of senior prospects.
I don't happen to agree with a lot of his
rankings. See my comments below in parentheses...

(No way in hell)

> 2. Wally Szczerbiak SF 6-7 230 Miami (Ohio)

(Better than Miller)

> 3. Kenny Thomas PF 6-8 260 New Mexico
> 4. Tim James SF 6-7 220 Miami (Florida)

(Too high; Lewis is a better pro prospect)

> 5. Rodney Buford OG 6-5 195 Creighton

(Apparently Owen knows something the rest of us don't)

> 6. Lee Nailon PF 6-8 235 Texas Christian

(Tweener type with poor perimeter skills - ranked
too high)

> 7. Quincy Lewis SF-OG 6-7 215 Minnesota

(Reminds me of Michael Finley - Move him up)

> 8. Evan Eschmeyer C-PF 6-11 255 Northwestern
> 9. Jason Terry PG 6-2 170 Arizona

(Terry's been the most dominant PG in the Pac 10
since Payton)

> 10.Todd MacCulloch C 7-0 280 Washington

(Had a 20/20 game recently - move him up)

> 11.Antonio Garcia PF 6-8 250 Kentucky Wesleyan
> 12.Roberto Bergerson OG 6-6 200 Boise State

(Scouts compare the 4th leading scorer in the
nation to Dale Ellis - Move him up)

> 13.Scott Padgett F 6-9 230 Kentucky
> 14.Ademola Okulaja F 6-9 235 North Carolina
> 15.Arthur Lee PG 6-0 175 Stanford
> 16.A.J. Bramlett C-PF 6-10 230 Arizona
> 17.Chris Herron G 6-3 190 Fresno State

(Now this is a joke. Herren won't go any lower
in the draft than the C's pick)

> 18.James Posey SF 6-8 210 Xavier

(Posey does everything well - Move him up)

> 19.Vonteego Cummings G 6-4 185 Pittsburgh

(Cummings reminds me of Sprewell - Move him up)

> 20.Jamel Thomas SF-OG 6-6 215 Providence

(Thomas has been the best player in the Big East
this year - Move him up)

> 21.Calvin Booth C-PF 6-11 230 Penn State
> 22.Laron Profit OG 6-5 205 Maryland
> x-Darnell Williams OG 6-5 195 Xavier
> 23.B.J. McKie PG 6-2 185 South Carolina

> 25.Michael Ruffin PF 6-8 235 Tulsa

(Ruffin is a middle class Rodman - Move him up)

> 26.Mike Batiste F 6-8 225 Arizona State
> 27.Bobby Lazor F 6-9 230 Arizona State
> 28.Danny Moore PF-C 6-10 240 Southwest Missouri St.
> x-T.J. Lux PF 6-9 230 Northern Illinois

(Washington impresses me - Move him up)

> 36.William "Bud" Eley C-PF 6-10 250 Southeast Missouri St.
> 37.Obinna Ekezie C-PF 6-9 260 Maryland
> 38.Maurice Carter OG 6-4 205 Louisiana State
> 39.Melvin Levett OG 6-3 215 Cincinnati
> 40.Terrell McIntyre PG 5-9 175 Clemson

> 10.Lari Ketner 6-10 270 Massachusetts

(Lari Ketner this far down is a joke - Move him
up; I predict he'll have a great pre-draft camp)
