So if Kenny hits the three-pointer near the end, or if Paul and Tony
hit their free throws, then Pitino is the better coach? Or Jim O'Brien
is a better coach (or less inadequate) than Pat Riley, therefore the win?

Pitino has so far steered the team to a record that is almost exactly
what your expectations are. The team is half a game out of the playoffs
currently. Why all the griping then?

I'm not sure what being a "competitive" fan means, because we're just
spectators. No Celtic fan wants the team to lose, if that's what you
mean, but it's possible to stay positive about the team and give some
credit to opposing teams instead of treating every loss as another
reason to spew negativity onto the coach and other scapegoats.

My problem with the criticism is that it is completely unbalanced.
You seem to blame Pitino for every bad thing the Celtics do and give
him no credit for any good thing that they do. If you think he's
responsible for every loss, fine, but then he deserves credit for
every win too. How about giving him some credit for beating Indiana
and Miami this year, say, or Toronto and Charlotte?
